People always pronounce my last name “pen-na” or “peen-ya” or “peen-na”. It’s “pen-ya”. Learn some goshdarn spanish please.

I literally might as well not bother spelling out my name EVEN IF THEY ASKED ME TOO because seeing as ‘Caitlin’ is the name with the most varied spelling in all of English, I’ll check it and still see Caitlan, Caitlyn, Caitlynn, Caittlyn, Catelyn, Catlyn, Caytelyn, Caytlin, Kaetlynn, Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, Kaitlyne, Kaitlynn, Katelin, Katelyn, Katelynn, Kate Lynn, Katlin, Katlyn, Katlynne, Kaytelin, Kaytelinn, Kaytlynn, or Quatlin.
Abruzzo is AH-BRU-TZO not A-BRUISE-O. I also get a shit load of people who like to make it A-BRUISE-EE or A-BRU-ZAY-ZEE because I guess they just want to say the name they learned first.
My first name is always spelled wrong and my last name is always pronounced wrong. So I’ll agree with Miguel and Tulio.
THIS. I’m definitely having kids some day, but I have lots of friends who have no interest in having their own kids ever. They seem to hear crap like that a lot, and it’s not fair for people to make them feel crappy about their perfectly reasonable life choices.
This makes me feel so much better. I hate having to explain myself.
